Setting the staff display options

Use this portion of the Setup Track dialogue to define the appearance of the staff. You can view or hide each of the following by checking or unchecking its checkbox:

  • Clef. Shows or hides all clefs for the staff. Selected by default.

  • Bar lines. Shows or hides the bar lines between each measure. Selected by default.

  • Ledger line. Shows or hides ledger lines above and below the staff.

  • Key Signature. Displays the key signature of the staff.

  • Time Signature. Displays the time signature of the staff.

  • Filled Rests. Display empty measures with whole measure rests.

  • Flat Beams. Displays subsequently-entered beamed notes with flat, horizontal beams instead of jagged diagonal ones. It only affects beams that you enter after checking the option. Previously entered beamed notes do not change.

  • Hide Staff Clefs. Hides all clefs after the first, which is useful for printing parts. If the Clef option above is not checked (showing all clefs), then this option does not apply.
