Merge Tracks to New Merge Tracks to New merges audio or MIDI data from all selected tracks within the Tracks window to a new single track. The new track created by Merge Tracks to New will be placed on the first open track in the current Section. Merge Tracks to New is great for merging independent tracks of drum data from old Metro files or Standard MIDI files (in which each track contains only the pitches of a single drum timbre) down to a single track. This feature is also particularly useful for merging individual tracks for use with Metro’s Drum Grid display. The Drums display in the Graphic Editor window allows pitch data within a single track to be displayed in a drum grid-style layout. Individual Drum Names (timbres/pitches) across a single Drum track can be muted and soloed during playback.
