Merge Data

Merge Data
combines MIDI and audio data on the Clipboard with data in the current selection. Unlike the Paste command, Merge Data does not replace existing data, but combines both the existing data and the Clipboard data.

If you select an entire Section to merge, then certain aspects of the Section will be merged depending on which window is currently active.

Merging a Section into:

  • The Section window merges the entire Section.

  • The Tracks window merges all tracks in the Section in their original order starting at the selected track Number.

  • The Notes or Drums display of the Graphic Editor window merges starting at the cursor insert point, and merges the first track of the Section to the currently selected track.

  • The Continuous Data Display of the Graphic Editor window merges only the continuous data for the first track in the Section starting at the insertion point of the currently active track. One type of controller data can be pasted into a different controller number display to change the data type.
