The Continuous Data Display Modes When we say 'the Continuous Data display', we actually mean the graphical display of Controllers, Pitch Bend, After Touch, Poly After Touch, Program Changes, Average Velocity, Audio Automation and/or Tempo within the Graphic Editor window. In reality, there is no display mode in Metro called the 'Continuous Data display'; instead, there are specific display modes (e.g., controllers, Pitch Bend, Audio Automation, tempo, etc.) relevant to the type of 'continuous data' you desire to view or edit. The Forceps and Velocity Tools at the top of the Graphic Editor window will change to show the Curve Tools when the active track is displayed as Controller, Pitch Bend, After Touch, Poly After Touch, Program Change, Average Velocity, or Tempo. The Forceps and Velocity Tools will become accessible again after changing the Data Type display of the current track to Notes or Drums. Note: Keep in mind that a single track of data can be viewed in any number of simultaneous graphical display modes. For example, Track 3 might be viewed in four separate display modes: Controller 7, Pitch Bend, Notes (piano roll), and Program Changes. Use the Add Tracks icon to create more track views; reassign each track view by choosing the appropriate Track Name and Data Type display within each track's titlebar. Note: The Track Name pop-up menu within the current track's titlebar allows you to choose a new track name to display. You can also use the Option-Up Arrow or Option-Down Arrow keys to change the current track display to show the next higher or lower numbered track (only when the Graphic Editor window is active).
