Timing Preferences
The Extended Time Manager (ETM) is available on later Macintosh computers and is a more compatible
method of deriving internal sync.
The following option is not available in OS X. The VIA Timer is a timer chip and is available on most Macintosh computers. Regardless of which timing mode you choose, make sure that Appletalk is disabled when using Metro. If Metro behaves erratically during playback, try choosing alternate timing modes and turn Virtual Memory off. .
Note: Because of the way Apple’s Sound Manager works, be sure to use ETM if you’re using audio files and/or internal samples; otherwise, timing accuracy will
be compromised.
