Selecting Tracks or Track Regions in the Tracks Window Overview

The Tracks window Overview provides very powerful selection and editing options. The Tracks window Overview allows you to simultaneously select multiple tracks for editing; you can even select entire tracks noncontiguously. Like the Graphic Editor window, the Tracks window Overview allows you to simultaneously select a range across multiple tracks. The Tracks window Overview displays all data by note and event density.

To open the Tracks window Overview:

  1. Open the Tracks window by choosing Tracks from the Windows menu or pressing Command-K.

  2. Click the Zoom box in the upper right corner of the Track window’s titlebar, or use the Grow box in the lower right corner to enlarge the Tracks window.

Before selecting anything in the Tracks window Overview, you’ll probably find it helpful to choose a Zoom Level and a Select Quantize Resolution. Most users prefer the Select Quantize Resolution set to 1 Bar.
