Adding the first lyric
To add a lyric, click the Add Lyric button. A new lyric line appears in the lyric list, selected for editing,
with the default name Lyrics x.
To change the name of the lyric, click the lyric name field and type a new
name. You can also specify the voice, verse and measure to which this lyric will
apply.
Type your lyrics into the Lyric editing area. Here are the rules:
- Spaces or hyphens between words or syllables let METRO know to put the next word or syllable on
the next note in the melody.
- To extend a word or syllable across more than one note, type an underscore for
each note.
- To assign multiple words to a single note, type non-breaking spaces
(option-space) between the words.
- To assign multiple syllables to a single note, type non-breaking hyphens
(option-hyphen) between the syllables.
- To skip notes at the beginning of the measure or between lyrics, press the
spacebar at the beginning of the lyric (once for each note you wish to skip).
