Archiving Tracks
When a track is muted, Metro processes the track while playback is in progress so that you can un-mute the track without stopping playback. If you have lots of muted tracks, this can place a heavy load on your computer. Archived tracks, on the other hand, don't place any load on your computer. Therefore, if there are tracks you want to keep but don't need to play, you should archive them instead.
To archive a track:
- In the track view, select the track or tracks to archive.
- Choose the Edit-Archive Tracks-Archive menu item.
The archived track name will appear in italicized text. See below for example.
To unarchive a track:
- Click on the track you wish to unarchive
- Choose the Edit-Archive Tracks-unarchive menu item.
