Automating Your Mix You can automate fader and pan settings in the Instruments Mixer Window using the Automation buttons. Automation works for both audio and MIDI tracks. To automate your mix: Open the Instruments Mixer Window and locate the track you want to automate. Click on the Record button, located at the top of the Instruments Mixer Window, to enable automation recording. Hit the spacebar to begin playback. Adjust your pan and/or volume settings as desired during playback. Hit the spacebar to stop playback when you are finished. Hit Return to rewind the track. Click on the Play button in the Instruments Mixer window to enable playback of the automation you recorded. Hit the spacebar and watch the faders and/or pan settings change according to the automation data you just recorded.
