Syncing Metro to DECK II on a single Macintosh

Under OS 9 and earlier, Metro can sync up to DECK II on a single Macintosh without requiring the use of third party Extensions such as Opcode’s OMS. Metro syncs to DECK II with sample-accurate precision—both applications work together to comprise an unparalleled, interactive and modular digital audio/MIDI environment.

To sync Metro to DECK II:

  1. Choose DECK Connections from Metro's Setup menu.

  2. Select the Connect button to synchronize Metro to DECK II's sample-accurate timing source.

  3. Select the Switch without stopping MIDI checkbox in order to hear Metro playback when switching between applications (this feature is only necessary when you're not using MIDI Manager). If running OMS in Allow Non-OMS Applications mode, the Switch without stopping MIDI setting will be defeated. The Switch without stopping MIDI feature is also useful when running Metro with applications other than DECK II.

  4. Experiment with the Tolerate 'N' errors before syncing setting if you're experiencing syncing problems with DECK II or are running a slower 68030-based CPU.

  5. The Open Documents, Launch, and Quit checkbox settings are ignored if the Connect checkbox is not selected.
