Cursors in the score window

METRO uses different cursors for the mouse, depending on the function you are performing:

Cursor Meaning

Met00024.gif The arrow cursor is the basic selection cursor in
the Notation window. It changes form when
you move it over various tools, symbols, staves,
or text.

Met00023.gif The drag cursor appears automatically whenever
you have positioned the cursor over a symbol or
edit handle. It indicates that you can drag the
symbol or handle.

Met00027.gif The eraser cursor appears whenever the eraser tool
is selected, allowing you to delete symbols in the
score with a click.

Met00028.gif The I-beam cursor appears when the arrow cursor
is over editable text.

Met00020.gif This crosshair appears when the cursor is directly
over a staff and indicates that the next action
applies to this staff.

Met00021.gif This crosshair appears when the cursor is above a
staff and indicates that the next action applies to
the staff immediately below the cursor.

Met00022.gif This crosshair appears when the cursor is below a
staff and indicates that the next action applies to
the staff immediately above the cursor.

Met00029.gif This is the selection zoom cursor and appears
when you option-drag a rectangle to zoom a
selected area.
