Links

The Links dialog shows all audio file references that are part of the Metro session. Storage path, sample rate, bit depth, file size and other file information for the selected audio file are displayed at the bottom of the Links dialog.

Click the Change button to open linked audio files that cannot be found by the Metro application, use the dialog to locate the missing audio file from any mounted volume. Click OK to save changes, or Cancel to revert to the previous settings.

Changing file references so that the new file is shorter than the old file may create errors when you try to play back.

All audio edit operations in Metro are nondestructive in nature, in other words, a new audio file is created instead of processing the original file. Metro’s built-in file management features track the use of audio files generated by non-real time edit operations, such as Normalize and non real-time Audio Plug-ins (including AudioUnits, VST and Adobe Premiere compatible formats). Audio files created in Metro originating from edits or file conversion are automatically deleted if they are no longer used within the Metro session and never saved. Imported audo files are protected from auto-deletion, these files are denoted by a Lock icon displayed to the left of their file name. Saving a Metro file locks all referenced audio files (imported and recorded) protecting them from auto-deletion.
