New New clears your workspace and creates a new, empty Metro document. If you choose New while working on a modified Metro document, you’ll be prompted to save changes to the current file before Metro closes it. This prevents you from accidentally closing a file without having saved changes. Choosing New does not affect the contents of the Clipboard; its contents are preserved, allowing you to copy and paste between old and new Metro documents.
