Stereo Parametric EQ
Use the Stereo Parametric EQ to emphasize or deemphasize certain frequencies
in your stereo audio tracks. For example, you can add or subtract brightness to
your audio, or alter the bass.
You can control two frequency points with this effect, using either or both of them as a high pass, low pass, or boost/cut effect. High pass filters reduce frequencies below their frequency points; in other words, they 'pass' higher frequencies on without reducing them. In a similar way, low pass filters reduce frequencies above their frequency points, by 'passing' lower frequencies on without reducing them.
Gain 1
Controls the amount of increase or decrease applied to the frequency set with
the Freq 1 control.
Gain 2
Controls the amount of increase or decrease applied to the frequency set with Freq 2.
Freq 1
Controls the center frequency for the amount of boosting or cutting set with Gain 1.
Freq 2
Controls the center frequency for the amount of boosting or cutting set with Gain 2.
Q1
Controls the 'sharpness' of the frequency curve. A low Q setting causes the boost or cut set with Gain 1 to be a wide, bell-shaped curve, affecting a wide range of frequencies. A
high Q setting causes the boost or cut to be a very steep point, affecting a small
range of frequencies. Q values range from 1 to 30. (In more technical terms,
the Q value is a proportion of the frequency you specify in Freq 1; for example, a setting of 30 means that you will affect a range of
frequencies equal to 1/30th of the frequency you pick.)
Q2
This control works identically to the Q1 control, except that it effects the
frequency and gain set with Freq 1 and Gain 2 .
Type 1
Determines whether the boost or cut applied to Freq 1 acts as a normal boost
cut, or whether it behaves as a high or low pass filter instead. To create a
high pass filter, set this control to H, pick the frequency above which Metro
should pass the signal unchanged, then choose the amount of gain reduction applied
to the lower frequencies (you should use a value lower than 0).
Type 2
This control works identically to the Type 1 control, except that it affects
the frequency and gain set with Freq 2 and Gain 2 .
