Selecting and Moving Tracks
Clicking a track’s Number or Name selects the entire contents of that track and displays the
track’s data in the Graphic Editor and the Event Editor windows (if these windows
are open).
Clicking on a track name will select all data across that track. Clicking and
dragging the mouse up or down across multiple track names will allow for the
selection of all data across multiple tracks. Command-clicking on multiple track names allows for noncontiguous selection of
tracks. Double-clicking on a track will open that track in the Graphic Editor or
Event Editor window (if Double Click to Event Editor is selected under the Switches menu).
When the Tracks window is active, you can also use key equivalents to
manipulate track selection. The Up/Down Arrow keys move the current selection from track to track, and the Shift-Up/Down Arrow keys allows for multiple track selection.
A selection within a track in the Tracks window Overview display can be
transferred, or extended, to other tracks (without selecting all data across that
track) by using the Up/Down Arrow keys. The Up/Down Arrow keys move the current Overview selection upwards or downwards through tracks,
and the Shift -Up/Down Arrow keys extends the current Overview selection to encompass multiple tracks.
You can also rearrange the order of track Names displayed in the Tracks
window. This is done by clicking and dragging the track Number at the far left side
of the window (you’ll see an outline of the track row appear) and releasing the mouse to place
the track at the newly desired location.
Immediately above the track number column is the display options pop-up menu.
Click the inverted triangle to select the fields that you want to have
displayed in the Tracks window.
