Scale Amplitude Scale Amplitude

The Scale Amplitude command increases or decreases the amplitude of the selected audio data, but maintains the shape of the waveform.

To scale amplitude:

  1. In the Graphic Editor window, select the audio data you want to scale.

  2. From the Edit menu, choose Audio > Scale Amplitude.

The Scale Amplitude dialog box appears.

  1. In the Change audio to 'N' % of current field, enter a value between 1 and 500. A setting of 100% is neutral which does not change volume level. Settings below 100% decrease amplitude and setting above 100% increase amplitude.

  2. Click OK.

The amplitude changes, but the shape of the waveform does not change.
